MARCH: Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest (19-20 March 2016)

Over two days, the Mandurah foreshore is transformed into a lively celebration in honour of the famous blue manna crab which is abundant in this location.

MARCH: Eat Drink Perth (March-April 2016)

Perth's biggest food festival, Eat Drink Perth, runs over five weeks in March and April, with a variety of events showcasing Perth's unique food culture at the city’s restaurants, cafes, bars and diverse culinary experiences.

Go fishing at a marron or trout farm. Or save yourself the hassle and make a purchase from the many aquaculture farms around.

- Walk among the tall timbers.

Get a bird’s eye view of towering tingle trees on the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk between Denmark and Walpole. Suspended 40 metres above the forest floor, the walk is the first of its kind in the world.

-Caves

Journey into an ancient underworld of spectacular limestone and crystal formations. The spine of the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge is dotted with more than 150 caves – Ngilgi, Mammoth, Lake, Jewel and Moondyne Caves are the key ones for visitors to explore.

- Lighthouses and whales

For vantage spots to watch migrating whales, visit Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, Dunsborough (September to December) and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in Augusta (mid-May to September).
